Carla Garcia Connolly

Carla Garcia Connolly has represented individuals, businesses and governmental entities in a variety of cases, including medical malpractice, construction defects, premises liability, products liability, errors and omissions, toxic torts, breach of contract, wrongful death, construction accidents, vehicular accidents, malicious prosecution, libel, slander, nuisance, trespass, and homeowner disputes. She has also handled many cases on appeal and represented professionals before licensing boards. Ms. Connolly is a former criminal prosecutor responsible for investigating and prosecuting high profile cases, including capital murders, aggravated sexual assaults, violation of civil rights, kidnappings, fraud, white collar crime and narcotic cases. Ms. Connolly has tried more than fifty cases to juries.

Ms. Connolly joined the firm of Carls, McDonald & Dalrymple, L.L.P. in 2012. Prior to that time she formed the law firm of Connolly & Castagna, L.L.P. and was a partner with the firm of Black & Connolly, L.L.P. She joined the firm of Wright & Greenhill, P.C. in October 1989 and was a shareholder when she departed in April 1998. From November 1980 to October 1989 she was an Assistant District Attorney with the Travis County District Attorney’s Office, where she served as chief prosecutor of three criminal courts and chief prosecutor of the Major Crimes and Narcotics Division.

Ms. Connolly received her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1980. She obtained her B.A. in mathematics cum laude in 1974 from Texas A&I University.

Ms. Connolly has been a member of the State Bar of Texas since 1980. She is admitted to practice in the U. S. Western District of Texas and the U. S. Eastern District of Texas. She is a member of the Austin Bar Association, Texas Association of Defense Counsel and Defense Research Institute. She has achieved an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell and is listed in Who’s Who in American Law. She is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (“ABOTA”), a professional organization to promote excellence in trial advocacy.

Ms. Connolly was born in San Antonio, Texas and currently resides in Austin, Texas. She is married to Jim Connolly, also an attorney in Austin.
