Kelly McDonald

Kelly McDonald offers her clients the advantages and benefits of her extensive experience in health care law, employment law and civil litigation.

As a partner of Carls, McDonald & Dalrymple, McDonald's practice is concentrated in the areas of health law, employment law and civil litigation.  She assists health care providers such as hospitals, long term care providers, home health providers, and physicians with transactional, regulatory, reimbursement, risk management, and employment issues.  She represents clients in proceedings before the U.S. Health and Human Services Departmental Appeals Board, the State Office of Administrative Hearings and in various state and federal courts.  She also assists clients with investigations, development of contracts, policies and procedures, reimbursement managed care and human resources issues.  For governmental entities, McDonald handles issues related to health districts and affiliated hospitals, clinics and related providers.

McDonald received her Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1988 from the University of Texas School Of Law and her Bachelor of Arts Degree with Special Honors from the University of Chicago in 1982.  Prior to becoming affiliated with the Firm in September 1999 as Of Counsel, she was a shareholder at the Austin firm of Davis & Wilkerson. 

McDonald is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the Texas Health Care Association, the Texas Association of Rural and Community Hospitals, the Texas Association of Home Care, the State Bar of Texas and the Austin Bar Association.  McDonald speaks before professional organizations and industry groups on a variety of health law issues.
